Witch Hat Atelier Bags Best Manga At Harvey Awards For Second Time

Kamome Shirahama’s Witch Hat Atelier manga won the Best Manga category at the annual Harvey Awards. The winners were unveiled in conjunction with the New York Comic Con 2025 event.

The series came on top after beating competition from The Guy She Was Interested in Wasn’t a Guy at All, The Summer Hikaru Died, Tokyo These Days, and WIND BREAKER.

This marked the fourth nomination and second win for Witch Hat Atelier at the awards, following its first win in 2020.

Also at New York Comic Con, the staff for the television anime adaptation of the manga unveiled a new “welcome” visual featuring the characters Coco and Qifrey.

The anime adaptation was first announced in 2022, with the project reportedly in progress since 2019. The main staff includes Ayumu Watanabe as director, Yuka Kitamura composing the music, and Kairi Unabara handling character design. BUGS FILMS is in charge of animation production.

Witch Hat Atelier is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Kamome Shirahama. Kodansha has serialized it in its Monthly Morning Two magazine since July 2016. As of April 2025, its chapters had been collected into 14 tankobon volumes.

The English version of the manga is published by Kodansha USA Publishing, with Stephen Kohler handling the translations. Till now, 13 volumes of the manga have been released in English language.
