Webtoon announced that Hiromu Akarakawa’s Fullmetal Alchemist manga will debut on WEBTOON’s English-language platform on May 7, 2025.
This adaptation features the entire series in full color and reformatted for the platform’s signature vertical scroll format.
Yongsoo Kim, Head of Global WEBTOON at WEBTOON Entertainment, expressed enthusiasm about the release, stating, “Fullmetal Alchemist is the kind of story that stays with you for life—whether you’ve read the original manga, watched the anime, or found it through its passionate global fandom. Bringing this iconic series to WEBTOON audiences gives both longtime fans and first-timers a new way to enjoy this story.”
Written and illustrated by Hiromu Arakawa, Fullmetal Alchemist was serialized in Square Enix’s shonen manga anthology magazine Monthly Shonen Gangan between July 2001 and June 2010.
Fullmetal Alchemist has been adapted into various anime—two television series and two films, all animated by Bones—as well as light novels. A live-action film based on the series was released in 2017, and two sequels in 2022.
