Strobe Edge Manga Returns After 10 Years With New One-Shot Focused On Ando’s Story

Io Sakisaka’s Strobe Edge manga has returned after 10 years with a brand-new one-shot published in the November issue of Bessatsu Margaret on Oct 10, 2025.

The 32-page story takes place at the same high school, following Ando exploring his life after the events of the main series. The new chapter, titled “This Love Is a Story That Ended,” explores Ando’s lingering heartbreak over his unrequited love for Ninako after she and Ren have finally confessed their feelings to each other.

It marks the first new Strobe Edge manga content since the main series concluded in 2010.

The special chapter was created in celebration of the upcoming Strobe Edge live-action drama, which will air and stream on WOWOW starting Oct. 31.

When I visited the set of the drama, my editor suggested that I draw a special chapter to go along with it. That inspired me to bring Ninako and the others back to life once more. This time, Ando is the main character. It was quite a struggle since I hadn’t drawn them in such a long time, but I was so happy to see everyone again. Whether you’re an old fan or reading it for the first time, I hope this manga will make you look forward to the drama even more!

Strobe Edge originally ran in Bessatsu Margaret from 2007 to 2010, The manga has sold over 8 million copies (including digital editions) across 10 volumes and inspired a 2015 live-action film starring Sota Fukushi and Kasumi Arimura.

The upcoming TV drama adaptation will feature Riko Fukumoto as Ninako and Kyohei Takahashi as Ren.
