At the Solo Leveling For Your Consideration (FYC) screening hosted by Crunchyroll on April 30, 2025, Aniplex producer Sota Furuhashi jokingly suggested waiting until the next Olympics in 2028 to see what will happen with Season 3 of the anime.
The panel featured key figures involved with the anime, including Furuhashi, Atsushi Kaneko (Producer, A-1 Pictures), Kanako Takahashi (Director of Global Marketing, Crunchyroll), Aleks Le (English voice actor for Sung Jinwoo), and Michelle Rojas (English voice actor for Cha Hae-in). The discussion was moderated by Raquel Harris of TheWrap.
When asked about Solo Leveling Season 3, Furuhashi noted the significant workload involved in the first two seasons of the anime, stating that a staggering 220,000 frames of animation were created between Solo Leveling Season 1 and Season 2.
Due to this effort, Furuhashi joked that if it were up to him, then he would wait until the next Olympics to see what will happen with Solo Leveling Season 3.
I think more than anyone, I am anxiously awaiting a Season 3! But in truth, between Season 1 and Season 2, 220,000 frames of animation were created. So, if it were up to me, I’d say let’s wait until the next Olympics (2028) to see what’s going to happen with a Season 3. But I think that’s more up to Kaneko and A-1 Pictures

Previously, Kaneko had mentioned that the third season of the anime may or may not happen depending on the support and encouragement from fans.
Solo Leveling Season 2 was an enormous hit as it broke multiple records on Crunchyroll. While there were complaints about the overall storytelling and plot of the anime, the action sequences and animation quality carried the series well.
Crunchyroll streamed the season in North America, Central America, South America, Europe, Africa, Oceania, the Middle East, CIS, and India.
Solo Leveling season 1 produced by A-1 Pictures aired from January to March 2024.
The first season of the anime won Best Anime Series Award in the Astra TV Awards category.
