Popular shoujo manga Beauty Pop is making a comeback after 17 years with a sequel series titled ‘Beauty Pop Returns‘.
It will begin serialization on April 27 via the digital platform Ciao Plus. The first chapter will be a double feature.
Beauty Pop Returns will pick up years after the original story, following main character Kiri Koshiba, who is now married to Narumi. When S.P. (Scissors Project) members Ochiai and Kei visit the couple, Kei asks Kiri why she married Narumi. The story then flashes back to Narumi and Ochiai’s college days, where Ochiai begins to revive the S.P. project.
To commemorate the series’ return, three volumes of the original Beauty Pop manga will be available to read for free on the platform from April 27 to May 11.
It is published in English by VIZ Media under the Shojo Beat label and in French by Soleil Manga.
