DMM.com has officially confirmed that KILL BLUE, the manga from Kuroko’s Basketball creator Tadatoshi Fujimaki, will receive a television anime adaptation in 2026. The series will be directed by Hiro Kaburagi, best known for his work on Great Pretender and Kimi Ni Todoke.
The announcement was made alongside the release of a teaser visual and a promotional video.
Joining Kaburagi is character designer Miho Daidoji, who previously worked as an animation director on Kuroko’s Basketball and chief animation director for Kimi Ni Todoke Season 3. Animation production will be handled by CUE.
Mangaka Tadatoshi Fujimaki expressed his excitement over the adaptation, thanking fans for supporting the manga and calling the upcoming anime a dream come true.
The plot of the series is described as:
A legendary assassin at 39. Starting over… as a middle schooler.

The manga, published under Shueisha’s Jump Comics imprint, has released ten tankobon volumes so far, with the eleventh volume scheduled for Sep 4, 2025.
