GKIDS announced on May 8, 2025, that it has acquired the North American theatrical distribution rights for the compilation movie of the Jujutsu Kaisen Season 2, titled JUJUTSU KAISEN: Hidden Inventory / Premature Death—The Movie.
The film will be released in U.S. theaters starting July 16.
The film will be available in both its original Japanese language with subtitles and an English-dubbed version.
GKIDS highlighted that this theatrical release will feature newly remixed sound.
Jujutsu Kaisen season 2 aired from July 6 to Dec 28, 2023. It ran for two continuous cours and adapted the manga’s “Hidden Inventory / Premature Death” and “Shibuya Incident” story arcs.
After the second season’s finale, a sequel covering the “Culling Game” arc was announced.
Season 1 of the anime adaptation by MAPPA aired from October 2020 to March 2021.
A movie adaptation of Jujutsu Kaisen prequel, Jujutsu Kaisen 0 premiered in Japan in December 2021.
Jujutsu Kaisen manga was serialized in Shueisha’s shonen manga magazine Weekly Shonen Jump from March 2018 to September 2024, with its chapters collected in 28 tankobon volumes as of October 2024.
By September 2024, the manga had over 100 million copies in circulation, including related novels, digital versions, and Jujutsu Kaisen 0.
