Demon Slayer: Infinity Castle Part 1 Becomes Fastest Film In Japan To Cross 30 Billion Yen

Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba – Infinity Castle Arc Part 1: Akaza’s Return has set a new box office record, becoming the fastest film in Japan to earn over 30 billion yen.

The milestone was confirmed by the official X account of Toho Movies, which distributes the film alongside Aniplex. The movie, released on July 18, reached the 30 billion yen mark in just 46 days, surpassing the pace of Mugen Train in 2020.

According to box office tracker Kogyo Tsushin, the latest installment in the blockbuster anime franchise has grossed 31.42 billion yen and sold more than 22 million tickets in its first 52 days.

Distributor Toho Cinemas and Aniplex thanked audiences for the record-breaking run, stating, “We would like to express our heartfelt gratitude to every single person who came to the theater, as well as to all the theater staff who continue to bring this work to audiences.

It had also become the fastest film in Japanese history to surpass 10 billion yen in eight days and 20 billion yen in 23 days, while setting new records for opening-day revenue, opening weekend, and single-day earnings.

Currently, Infinity Castle stands as the third-highest-grossing film in Japanese box office history, behind Hayao Miyazaki’s Spirited Away and Mugen Train.

The movie will hit theatres in India, United States, and Canada on Sep 12, 2025.
