Chainsaw Man – The Movie: Reze Arc continues the story from the TV anime’s final episode, which aired in 2022, adapting the incidents chronicling the combat with the Bomb Devil, where Denji meets a mysterious girl named Reze, leading him into a whirlwind of romance and brutal conflict that forever changes his fate.
The Chainsaw Man franchise follows Denji, a young man living in poverty who works as a devil hunter with his Chainsaw Devil companion, Pochita. After a tragic betrayal, Denji merges with Pochita and is reborn as the titular Chainsaw Man, a human-devil hybrid tasked with hunting down the various devils that plague the world.
The series is based on the wildly popular manga of the same name by Tatsuki Fujimoto, which began serialization in Weekly Shonen Jump in December 2018. The manga has become a global phenomenon, with its collected volumes having surpassed 30 million copies in circulation.
Part 1 of the manga, known as the Public Safety Arc, concluded in December 2020, with Part 2 currently being serialized on the Shonen Jump+ digital platform since July 2022.
