My Hero Academia Spin-off Returns Months After Conclusion With New One-Shot

A new one-shot chapter of My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions will be published in the next issue of Shueisha’s Saikyo Jump magazine on Dec 4, marking the spin-off’s first new release since it wrapped earlier this year.

The announcement was made in the magazine’s December issue, confirming that creator Yoko Akiyama will return to deliver the special chapter based on Kohei Horikoshi’s My Hero Academia universe. Story details for the one-shot were not revealed.

My Hero Academia: Team-Up Missions follows Izuku Midoriya and the rest of his classmates at U.A. High School as they are paired with students from other hero schools and even pro heroes to participate in specially requested assignments under the “Team-Up Missions Program.”

Viz Media publishes the spin-off in English in North America.

Meanwhile, the main series by Horikoshi, My Hero Academia, concluded in August 2024 after a decade of publication. The series inspired a multimedia franchise including eight anime seasons, multiple films, novels, and several spin-offs, including Vigilantes.

A live-action film for My Hero Academia by Legendary Entertainment is in development.
